How I Live My Passion

The purpose of this blog is to inspire people to go out and live life to the fullest, to quit putting off those adventures you have talked about for years, to find a job that you enjoy and would do it without pay, and most of all to inspire someone else to do the same.

I cannot tell you how fulfilling it is to be able to wake up each morning with a smile because I get to help people work their way out of poverty thru sustainable means. As President of Give a Goat, I have the privilege of working with people in the Philippines who have dreams, ideas, and visions about what they want their life to be.

Despite housing conditions that would be completely unsatisfactory to us, they have joy. They have hope. They are enjoying their life in the midst of struggles.

Have you ever seen a father’s face who used to struggle to put food on the table, but  now, not only is he able to feed his family, but send them to college as well? I get to see stories like this unfold daily.

Even though I have worked with Give a Goat for roughly four months now, I held off mentioning them on this site simply because I wanted to see the work on the ground before I made comments. As I am writing this, I am 35,000 feet over the Pacific Ocean on my way back to the states from a two-week trip to the Philippines and other parts of Asia. I was able to meet goat raisers whose life has been drastically changed as a result of our goat giving to help create multiplying and lasting streams of income for the families.

Meeting those families and learning their stories are the reason I do what I do. Seeing lives changed constantly reinforces to me the need for continue doing what I do.

I would not have the opportunities I have now if I had not followed my passion of helping those who cannot help themselves. There are positions out there that will allow you to live out your passion, and if you can’t find it, create it.
